Our Pride Day theme this year is the 50th Anniversary of the Annual Reminders picketing of Independence Hall, July 4 1965 through July 4, 1969. Three weeks later the picketing will be reenacted at Independence Hall on July 4, and we will have a block party in the Gayborhood on Sunday, July 5.
The Philly Pride Parade and Festival is the official Philadelphia LGBT Pride Parade through Center City and Festival at Penn’s Landing on the waterfront.
Start Times
- The parade starts at 11:30 a.m at 13th and Locust Streets. (Earlier start time)
- The festival gates open at Noon at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing
- The Parade reaches the Festival location at approx. 1:00pm
Admission
There is a $15 cover charge to help fund the event, pay entertainers, cover site rental, and provide seed money for Outfest in October.
Security Information
Penn’s Landing security will once again be checking backpacks, and this caused an uncomfortable situation at the front gate in 2013. In 2014 Penn’s Landing diverted a huge portion of the crowd to the waterfront and the North gate, which caused quite a lineup. Keep an eye out for our volunteers selling wristbands on the street as that will cut out the crowd scene at the Festival. We will have separate isles for those without backpacks and bags so you can enter the Festival quickly. Those with bags will be checked, and it will cause you some delay. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but it is for the safety of our community. If you enter from either the north or south parking lots, your wait wshould be less as well. Those crossing I-95 via the Market Street overpass will be urged to descent the steps into the parking lot and the north entrance.
